SK Telecom Makes Additional Investment in Packet One; Likely to Provide 4G Mobile Phone Services in Brazil

SK Telecom said on May 16, 2011 that the company will invest additional 50 million ringgit (US$16.6 million; US$1=3.02 ringgit) in Packet One Networks, according to Bloomberg. SK Telecom announced an US$100 million investment in Packet One Networks in June 2010.

In related news, SK Telecom is likely to be permitted to provide mobile phone services in Brazil, according to a May 17, 2011 report by Bloomberg. The communications minister of Brazil said that SK Telecom plans to offer 4G mobile phone services in the country.
